For me, education changed my life. I grew up in the out back in Australia, I still live there now only in a small city. Before I went to University in Sidney I had never left my home town area. My families are sleep farmers. The high school I went to had 300 students. Every one knew every one. I was the first person in my family to go to University. The learning and social environment of the university and of the city opened my mind to new ideas. I loved reading English literature (my major) the open life there allowed me to realize and embrace my homosexual feelings. This became a big part of my educational experience. I now live a semi open gay male community. The people I don’t want to know don’t know because they would just not understand.
